MISSION STATEMENT
The Irish American Coastal Club is established to promote, foster, disseminate and promulgate knowledge, information and understanding of Irish culture.
In particular, this pertains to Irish history, music, dancing, sports, literature, drama, poetry and theater.
This is accomplished through a variety of classes and special events in all aspects of that heritage.
ORIGIN AND GOAL OF OUR CLUB
The beginning of the Irish American Coastal Club was spearheaded by Mrs. Eileen Brogle, with our inaugural meeting taking place on June 8, 2008. Our original meeting places included various establishments in Southern Rhode Island and Connecticut that had an Irish connection and have been supportive of our members and our club.
It is our goal to eventually have enough members to warrant the purchase of our own building where all meetings and events of the Irish American Coastal Club will then be held. It is our goal that this place will be a gathering place for Members and their families - young and old - to spend many enjoyable hours.
It is our desire to serve all our Members - old and new. We believe that the Club will serve as the focal point for newcomers to our shores to understand and appreciate our American system of life. We further believe that this club will afford all of our membership the opportunity to continue their appreciation and preservation of the Irish cultures.
